FIRST-CLASS FACILITIES

After a multi-million-euro refurbishment programme, the new Balk
Shipyard opened its doors in June 2007. The showpiece is a 20-metre high, 20-metre wide hall, where yachts of up to 60 metres in length and 1200 tons in weight are dry-docked.

This floor-heated space has its own indoor track and is supported by a comprehensive range of warehouses and workshops. These include dedicated areas for metalwork, carpentry, painting and all the other disciplines involved.

An unusually large amount of windows create a light and pleasant
working environment. And the entire operational area is served by a state-of-the-art air treatment system.

These and other attributes reflect how the layout and logistics of the building were based on the practical experience of management and staff at Balk.

The second hall has also been completely restyled and, with two indoor tracks, is suitable for 45-metre yachts. Outside, there are four permanent shunting tracks for ships up to 60 metres. The jetty has been equipped with every conceivable facility, including compressed air, high-voltage current, water and lighting.

Our slipway installation can lift vessels of up to 1200 tons
out of the water. We recognise the unique privacy aspects of the
superyacht industry and give this issue the highest priority. Your yacht is only accessible via the shipyard.

Balk Shipyard has dedicated facilities for captains, owner’s reps and crew, including offices. Owners can enjoy watching work being carried out on their yacht in the new hall from a special balcony in the Balk offices.
