Last week the 31m explorer vessel MY Sandalphon came out of the shed and back into the water.
After her completion in 2017 and years and miles of cruising the Med and Carribean, she came back to Balk Shipyard for her first refit.
She has undergone a complete paint job, there is a cabin added and is now prepared to carry a 2 person submarine. On top of that maintenance works have been executed.

It’s with great pleasure and honour that we welcome motor yacht B3 to our shipyard. MY B3, her captain and crew will be staying with us for a couple of weeks and we wish them all a great stay.
Maintenance on our lifting system
We are in full swing with maintenance activities on our lifting system. This unique lifting system which enables us to haul out and launch yachts up to 1000 tons dead weight and a total length of +60 meters, was due for maintenance after a few years of heavy lifting of several yachts.

Fair winds and following seas for MY Bravado
This Saturday it was time for #mybravado to leave Balk Shipyard.
We were fortunate enough to finish her refit as scheduled despite the Coronavirus. The crew and Balk Shipyard staff had coronatests done and temperature checks on the regular.
Balk Shipyard welcomes M.Y. Stormborn!
We are very excited to welcome M.Y. Stormborn at our shipyard.
She arrived at our yard in november and she will be staying with us this winter for some refit works.
Soon she will be hauled out of the water and going into one of our dedicated refit halls.

Alexey Zakharov !
Alexey is a true professional in the yachting world. He graduated from Maritime College and then Maritime Academy in Russia. He used to work as a navigator on board merchant fleet around the world. He is in yachting since 2008 and worked as a captain on sailing and motor yachts up to 50 meters in length.
At present time Alexey is dealing with yacht construction and refit project management, marine surveys and yacht brokerage!

Bravado back in the water
Motoryacht Bravado is out of our refit facility and back in the water
The yacht went from 525GT back to 499GT. To make this happen, a lot of constructive adjustments had to be made to the yacht.
This makes Bravado one of the largest 499GT projects!
The whole hull and superstructure are painted with an Awlgrip topcoat, all teak decks are refurbished and all machinery underwent a technical overhaul. For example: both main engines, two generators, all pumps and valves and the whole aircon system throughout the whole boat.
After a bit over six months inside, we welcome her back in the water, where she belongs!
Light Show at Balk Shipyard
On Thursday 10th of September, de owner of MY Sandalphon invited light artist R.O. Schabbach onto his yacht.
As a present to us, the owner had asked mister Schabbach to create a light show for us, on our building, on the water, the MY Sandalphon and all surroundings.
It was a spectacular and colourfull sight that we will never forget! We would like to thank the owner of MY Sandalphon and artist R.

Balk Shipyard welcomes SY Athos
We are happy to welcome back sailing yacht Athos!
She arrived at our premises for a check-up and some maintenance works. Fun fact: SY Athos is for sail and for (only) 28 million euros, she is yours. You can also rent her for 185.000 euros per week. Dutch newspaper De Stentor wrote an article about SY athos being at Balk Shipyard and added some pictures and a video.
