Launch MV Astra
As a result of the cooperation between DMS Holland and Balk Shipyard – with Balk Shipyard being DMS’s first official installation facility in Europe – we are proud to announce that MV Astra is the first vessel that has been launched after installing the MagnusMaster stabilizers at the Balk Shipyard premises.

We are proud to announce that SY Copihue is back again for her second refit. After being refitted last year she now returns – after crossing the Atlantic from the Caribbean – for the entire Winter period.

When we asked Sam Watts — captain of the 41-metre SY Surama — if he would like to cooperate on the first edition of the Balk Shipyard captain’s story, we immediately got a big yes. It is something different than the usual talk about yachts, it is a talk with crew on yachts!
Launch MY Explora
In November 2016 MY Charisma came to the premises in Urk after her Owner granted Balk Shipyard the refit. As soon as she was in the refit facility her new Owner decided to change her name into MY Explora. Very applicable as her Owners plan to explore the seas with her.
Sandalphon launched
This unique project cannot be framed as a refit or as a new build but is the perfect example of a rebuild. In 2015 Sandalphon (also known as Project Gisele) came to the premises in Urk after her Owner granted Balk Shipyard the project due to its good reputation as a refit and rebuild specialist and its heritage. Now Sandalphon is ready to be launched and to discover the world.
Balk Shipyard and Werf 't Kromhout join forces
Balk Shipyard and Werf ‘t Kromhout are going to join forces. Both yards see the opportunity to strengthen and expand their network within the business. A cooperation between these two extraordinary companies with both such extraordinary history within the Dutch boating and yachting industry can be called unprecedented.

Balk Shipyard is delighted to announce to be one of the Event Partners at the first edition of SuperYacht Gallery. SuperYacht Gallery is an innovative luxury exposition showcasing the finest aspects of the superyacht industry. The event will be held at London's exclusive Saatchi Gallery from 1-3 June 2017.
Balk Shipyard welcomes Charisma
Balk Shipyard is proud to announce that the 46.3 metre motor yacht Charisma sets sail to the Urk premises for a big refit. Built by Feadship to a design by De Voogt and delivered in 1985, Charisma will be refitted by the Dutch refit specialist.
