The Spectral Series concept was conceived by joint efforts of exterior designer Christopher Seymour, design consultant Carl Esch, and Balk shipyard, guided by the commercial input of the professional Northrop & Johnson team. The new Spectral series consists at present of two models: Spectral 40M and Spectral 50M, with possibly a larger 55+m version to follow soon.
As in recent years demand is growing for yachts offering multipurpose leisure possibilities, whereby large and sumptuous exterior entertainment areas apparently seem to gain preference above the usual focus on huge interior spaces. Considering many of these yacht are used during the summer season in the MED waters, its relatively easy to imagine why many owners and guests nowadays actually increasingly prefer enjoying their stay on board “al aire fresco”.
As nowadays more and more guests like to enjoy bathing in a private fresh water pool on board, recent trends see the sizes of on-board pools continuously increasing, so why not providing the owner and guest a decent size pool? For the guests who like swimming and/or lounging near to the Mediterranean sea water, will really enjoy the featured huge unfolding bathing platform and Beach club at the transom area. The large retractable sunshade at the main deck, as well as the various removable large sun-umbrellas on the aft main deck, provide shaded areas for the guests on board when and where ever desired.
Another actual trend is the increasing demand for having on board decent sized fast tenders and various PWC´s, allowing for lots of entertainment and extra fun for the guest on board when anchored at one of the many beautiful bays at the numerous MED locations. When underway cruising the large tenders can be safely stored on the aft deck, and the PWC´s properly disappear in the Beach club area. During such cruising trips the guests can still enjoy “aire fresco” feeling, at forward and aft bridge deck areas, as well at the top deck partially covered by a solid hardtop (standard on Spectral 50M). Latter areas usually are also popular places to be when sterned in at one of the many crowded MED marinas, as these decks are higher positioned they provide more privacy as well as more often a fresh breeze than the lower decks may offer.
So summing up the above, the new stunning looking Spectral 50M may tick many logical boxes for the more experienced MED yacht owners. Furthermore as well a very interesting yacht concept for the increasingly growing Super Yacht charter market, considering the aft deck can be converted into a Helipad some enquiries may also be expected for clients in search for a luxury support vessel to their larger Superyachts.
